A RARE .36 (THUER) SIX-SHOT REVOLVER, MODEL '1851 NAVY THUER CONVERSION', serial no. 207079,
for 1869, and probably made as a conversion from new, with 7 1/2in. octagonal blued barrel signed 'ADDRESS COL SAML COL NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA', blued cylinder with roll engraved naval scene, Thuer patent turning ring to rear of cylinder positionable for unloading or firing, colour-hardened open frame marked 'COLTS PATENT', colour-hardened hammer, brass grip-straps and trigger-guard (traces of silver plate), smooth walnut one-piece grip and articulated under-barrel loading lever, bluing to the barrel and cylinder with losses and fading but retaining much colour and finish, an unknown collection disk stamped '126' attached to trigger-guard
